If forests are important to our lives, then why do people destroy the forest? Are there any solutions that we can do to fix this deforestation problem? Answers Deforestation is the permanent removal of trees from a forest Disruption of complex ecosystems, impact on human communities, water quality and supply Because forest can produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), and are home to an estimated 80% of Earth's terrestrial species. Forests also are a source of food, medicine and fuel for more than a billion people. Most people do it for business purposes. They often light fires to clear land for agricultural use, and cleared the forests to make way for palm oil plantations because it can make a lot of money.
